In the last couple of years the WTS has made more than billion dollars in selling many of its real estate holdings. $$$

They have also dramatically escalated their demand for congregation member's money. They have done this even to the pathetic extent of making video cartoons directed at children encouraging them to use their ice cream money to the WT. Literally.

It shows a JW girl, about ten, who's daydreaming of buying ice cream. She has the coin in her hand but before she does that she watches her mother drop in a contribution. She then daydreams about all the things the Watchtower does and after her daydream she decides to drop her coin into the contribution box.

officials at the university of california at berkeley on thursday reversed their decision to cancel a speech by conservative firebrand ann coulter.. the university had announced wednesday that it was canceling coulter’s appearance following several political protests in berkeley that turned violent.. but on thursday, the university said it had found a venue where it could hold the speech on may 2, instead of the original april 27 date.

however, a leader of the college republican group that originally invited coulter said the university was placing strict conditions on the event, and he said his group intended to reject the new terms.. before the reversal was announced, coulter had vowed to go ahead with an appearance anyway.. that probably would have put security officials on high alert and might have sparked another showdown in struggles over campus safety, student views and ideological openness.. “what are they going to do?

Even though I would have let that sociopathic bitch give her speech one thing needs to be emphasized. Republican/Conservatives have been hatemongering for decades. They are like bullies who keep hitting their victims until one of them gets to hit back. Then the victim is considered to be the bully.

People like Ann Coulter and the right wing media have been demonizing people to the point where the most unstable of them grab a gun and kill people. That is how I would introduce her right before giving her hate speech.

i automatically get 10 comments per page whichever thread i'm on.

If I may suggest 20 pages as default. Scrolling will make it difficult for us to find a particular post especially if it's a long thread. The page numbers really help us in zeroing in to a particular post.

When I was in the JWs as a teenager I was hearing this song and I told the elder that I thought the song line said "I never can study the Bible"He told me that it was "I never can say goodbye".

But really, that's common. In old Shakespearean times the words hour and whore were pronounced the same leading to some pretty ribald jokes. In modern day English you have different words, spelled differently but pronounced the same.

Like two, to and too. Or blew and blue.

Bearded students on Ministry school?

so at last nights ministry school we had 2...yes that's right two that had parts and gave them with beards.. i found it interesting.

i thought the consensus was that you couldn't have any extra privileges if you wore one.. maybe the school is different?.

anyway, anybody else seen this in the u.s.?.

i was wondering what the view jehovah witnesses and the bible and tract society had on medical cannabis?

i remember as a kid reading in the reasoning book that marijuana was bad and smoking it caused cancer and was worse then cigarettes.

as more reach comes out we are leaning marijuana can cure certain forms of cancer!

There are definitely many ways of not smoking it. Vaporizers, edibles, and tinctures. You might want to google and find a whole range of options. This is a good source of information for starters.

and briefly it tells of an equipment failure at a storage facility for ice cores that had been extracted from the polar ice cap in various locations.. but note, that the layers of ice evident in the cores covered a period of 22,000 years.

and from the christian/jw perspective, that's impossible, for the bible story of the flood (verified by jesus and sundry other biblical writers) maintains that 4000+ years ago, the ice caps would have melted during the period when the earth was covered by the divinely caused deluge.

Fortunately, I have no family in but it's been 37 years since I've seen any of my friends.
